Barber Nabbed For Okada Theft

This year’s Eid- Fitri turned sour for a middle aged barber, Adeyemi Opeyemi as a Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State capital ordered him to be remanded in Ile-Ife custody for armed robbery.
Opeyemi was arrested alongside one Abudu Azeez for robbing Mr. Raseed Lukuman of one Boxer Bajaj motorcycle valued at N112, 500, property of one Tijani Saka.
However, Azeez was said to have been shot dead by a hunter while trying to escape.
Prosecuting police officer, Inspector Mereti Wilson, told the court that “Opeyemi and Azeez had also committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 1 (2) (a) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) act, Cap, R11, Vol. 14, laws of Nigeria.”
When the two count charge was read to him, Opeyemi’s plea could not be taken owing to the criminal nature of the offence.”
According to the charge read in court, Opeyemi and Azeez perpetrated the alleged robbery on July 21, 2013 at Abaa-Sani,Orile-Owu village in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State.”
The charge reads in part: “that you Adeyemi Opeyemi and one deceased Abudu Azeez did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit armed robbery and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 6 (b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Cap R11 Act, Vol. 14, Laws of Nigeria, 2004”.
“That you Opeyemi and Azeez did arm yourselves with gun and matchetes, robbed one Mr. Raseed Lukuman of one Boxer Bajaj motorcycle (unregistered) valued at N112, 500, property of one Tijani Saka”.
In his ruling, the presiding judge, Magistrate Olusola Aluko ordered that Opeyemi be remanded in Ile-Ife prison custody pending further hearing on September, 3,2013.
