A nineteen year old girl was arrested after accidentally killing her brother while posing with a loaded gun at around 5:30 am.
The victim was identified as 22-year-old Manuel Ortiz.
Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said officers responded to shooting at an apartment complex were Ortiz was found dead in the apartment where he lived.
Officers said that Ortiz 's sister had been playing with a gun and taking photos. The gun accidentally fired and killed Ortiz.
There were three other people in the apartment and one of them witnessed the shooting. Police believe that Ortiz and his sister had been drinking all night.
The girl admitted that she posed with the gun so she can post the photo to Facebook, when her brother was accidentally shot and killed.
If the teen is found to have had alcohol in her system at the time of the shooting, she will be charged with manslaughter.
Friends and family remember of Ortiz remember him as a person who sought to make everyone happy. Whenever somebody was sad or down Ortiz would make jokes and cheer them up. Ortiz will be sorely missed.
