Ramadan Special: ‘Stop killings in Allah’s name’
The Ekiti State Police Command has said the body of the woman, Mrs. Iyabo Daramola, clubbed to death last week by her husband, Mr. Adewale Daramola, had been exhumed for investigation.
The police spokesman, Mr. Victor Babayemi, said pathologists from Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital in Ado-Ekiti had begun working on the woman’s body.
Her husband was said to have killed and buried her after a disagreement over an issue at their Igbemo- Ekiti residence last Monday.
The police spokesman, while parading 14 suspected armed robbery and some cult group suspects in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, said that Adewale Daramola would be charged to court after investigation.
According to him, the rate at which Daramola buried the body of the woman he had married for 20 years gave room for suspicion.
But the suspect denied clubbing his wife to death, saying she had been falling sick for about a year before she eventually died last week.
Also, a 17-year-old student of Joseph Ayo Babalola, who was paraded for alleged cultism, said he was invited to a party by a friend before he was arrested.
