Peter Odemwingie moved a step closer towards a transfer to Crystal Palace after he was forced to train with West Bromwich Albion's academy trainees.
The Nigeria striker remains embroiled in a dispute with the club following an abortive switch to QPR seven months ago.
Odemwingie returned to the Baggies this week following his summer break.
Happy days: Peter Odemwingie went from hat-trick hero to zero at West Brom
The 31-year-old attended a friend's wedding and was given extra time off by West Brom's head coach Steve Clarke.
But when he did pitch up at the club's training ground yesterday he found himself working alongside two 15-year-olds with one of the Baggies' physios as the rest of the first-team undertook their own session.
The Unwanted: Odemwigie spent most of the second half of last season on the West Brom bench
Ready-made replacement: New signing Nicolas Anelka will be stepping into Odemwingie's goal-scoring boots
Man in charge: Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway is due to make a bid for Odemwingie in the next 24 hours
Palace have not yet submitted a formal bid for the player but are expected to do so within the next 24 hours.
