About 7,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, dumped the opposition party for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The list of prominent politicians who decided to return included a former Commissioner of Health to Governor Nyako’s administration and 2011 governorship election candidate, Zainab Kwanchi.
Kwanchi and other returnees decamped to the PDP in Malabu, Fufore LGA.
The ex- Commissioner explained the move by dissatisfaction with the recent party congresses and the reign of impunity being entrenched by the opposition party in the state.
“The party has been hijacked by those who cried that they came to the party because of the impunity being entrenched by PDP.
“But it has become very glaring that they are the most wanton in perpetrating anarchy and impunity as they have completely asphyxiated internal party democracy and are even worse than those they accuse,” she concluded.
It has been also gathered that some aggrieved APC members in Edo, Kaduna, Oyo and Ogun states are planning to dump the party due to endless disagreements.
The opposition force #1 suffered a huge blow in Imo state, when at least 6,000 members announced the return to PDP in April 2014.
